KB451400 – Using 45Drives Repositories

Scope/Description

  • This article will show how to enable 45drives package repositories in RHEL/CentOS/Rocky Linux and Ubuntu environments.

Prerequisites

  • Ubuntu Server
  • Rocky Linux 8
  • CentOS 7/8
  • RHEL 7/8

Steps

RHEL-based

  • Pull down repository
[root@rhel-flavour-45d ~]# curl -o /etc/yum.repos.d/45drives.repo http://images.45drives.com/repo/centos/45drives-centos.repo
  • Clean and update yum cache (RHEL 8/CentOS 8/RL 8)
[root@rhel-flavour-45d ~]# dnf clean all && dnf makecache
  • Clean and update yum cache (RHEL 7/CentOS 7)
[root@rhel-flavour-45d ~]# yum clean all && yum makecache fast

Ubuntu

  • Install the repository signing key
root@ubuntu-45d:~# wget -qO - http://images.45drives.com/repo/keys/aptpubkey.asc | apt-key add -
  • Pull down repository .list file
root@ubuntu-45d:~# curl -o /etc/apt/sources.list.d/45drives.list http://images.45drives.com/repo/debian/45drives.list
  • Update apt repos
root@ubuntu-45d:~# apt update

Verification

  • You are now able to install 45drives packages by pulling them from 45drives repositories.
[root@rhel-flavour-45d ~]# yum install cockpit-file-sharing
root@ubuntu-45d:~# apt install cockpit-file-sharing

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure that you are attempting to curl to the correct local path, and the correct URL.
  • Ensure you have external access on the machine you are trying to install the repositories on.
