Scope/Description
This article details the process of mounting virtual media within the Gigabyte MegaRAC SP-X IPMI UI.
Prerequisites
IPMI Access to the Server
Steps
In your browser go to the IPMI IP assigned to the server, and login to the IPMI UI.
Navigate to the remote control tab and select “Launch H5Viewer”.
In the top right corner of the H5Viewer click “Browse File”. Path to the preferred ISO image on your local machine.
Once the preferred ISO is selected, click “Start Media”. This will mount the ISO to the server over the network. The “Media Boost” option can be selected to prioritize/optimize remote media performance.
The ISO is now mounted to the server, the server can now be started or power cycled into the boot menu.
Verification
Power on or power cycle the server and enter the boot selection. The ISO will appear as a boot option labelled “UEFI: AMI Virtual CDROM0 1.00”.
