Updating to FreeNAS 11

Updating FreeNAS can be done directly from the webUI.

To perform an upgrade using this method, go to System → Update.

After the update is complete, you will temporarily lose your connection as the FreeNAS system reboots into the new version of the operating system. The FreeNAS system will normally receive the same IP address from the DHCP server. Refresh your browser after a moment to see if you can access the system.

Driver Support

For those with a R750 in their unit, you will need to install the specific driver for FreeNAS 11. Do not use the driver built into FreeNAS by default as it is missing some critical bug fixes such as timeout issues, support for high capacity drives (8TB and above) and support for Hot-Swap.

Please see article KB450045 on how to install the driver Install Instructions
