KB450081 - Testing your power switch

If you hit the power switch on your Storinator and the unit will not come on it is possible the power switch is not working properly. This is a procedure to test the switch.

 

  • Remove the connectors for the power switch as pictured above and expose the power switch pins.
  • Make contact with the two pins by touching them with the tip of a screwdriver. Be careful not to touch anything else on the motherboard.
  • If the machine powers up then the switch needs placing. If it does not, then most likely you need to replace the power supply that powers the mother board.
  • If the new power supply does not start the system it is most likely that you need to replace the motherboard.
