KB450135 – Ubuntu boots to (initramfs) prompt.

Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.


1. Type “exit” at the prompt and the same concole should appear but this time with the exact name of the partition that is corrupt.

(initramfs) exit

2. Run the command “fsck” on the corrupt partition.

(initramfs) fsck /dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-root -y

3. Once the check is done. Reboot the system.

(initramfs) reboot

4. File system should now boot without errors.
