Installing 45Drives Cockpit UI


This article will walk through the process of installing 45Drives Cockpit UI on a CentOS8 Minimal Install.

  • CentOS 8 Minimal Installation


  • SSH into server
  • Update system and reboot if new kernel
[root@centos8 ~]# dnf update -y
[root@centos8 ~]# reboot
  • Set selinux to permissive
[root@centos8 ~]# vim /etc/selinux/config
  • Install dependencies
[root@centos8 ~]# dnf install -y vim epel-release tar
  • Install 45drives repository
[root@centos8 ~]# curl -o /etc/yum.repos.d/45drives.repo http://images.45drives.com/ceph/rpm/45drives.repo
  • Install Cockpit UI and 45drives tools
[root@centos8 ~]# dnf install -y cockpit cockpit-pcp 45drives-tools
  • Start and enable cockpit UI
[root@centos8 ~]# systemctl enable --now cockpit.socket
  • Open firewall port for Cockpit UI
[root@centos8 ~]# firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=9090/tcp ; firewall-cmd --reload
  • Point your browser to the IP or Hostname of the server, Port 9090. Login with root account.
