Due to variations in our manufacturers processes, certain batches of cables will report missing drives. In the Highpoint WebGUI these drives that are reported missing will always be on controller two numbers: 2-21,2-22,2-23. So in the Highpoint WebGUI what you would see is 2-1 through to 2-20 then it jumps to 2-24.

If this is the case for you don’t worry all your drives are there!

To verify run the following command:

[user@45drives]$ cat /proc/scsi/scsi | grep scsi | wc -l

This will output a single number representing the total amount drives in your machine plus the boot drives.

Therefore if you have redundant boot drives you can expect the command above to output 47 (45 drives + 2 boot drives)

If you have single boot drives you can expect the command above to output 46 (45 drives + 1 boot drives)
