Step 1 – Download maxView Storage Manager

http://storage.microsemi.com/en-us/speed/raid/storage_manager/msm_linux_x64_v2_02_22404_tgz.php

Step 2 – Extract the .bin file to a location where it can be run

Once the .bin file is extracted to a directory on the server, change into that directory and run it:
‘./StorMan-2.02-22404.x86_64.bin’

You will be prompted for configuration details, Where the CIM Server HTTP port is to be 5988.
You do not want to install the Standalone mode, so when prompted, enter ‘No’.
Standalone mode disables the option to use the GUI.

Step 3 – Accessing the GUI

To access the Web GUI, open a browser from any computer on the same network as the server and type:

https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8443   à where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the server.

This will bring you to a page saying that the connection isn’t secure, just add the page as an exception.
You will then be brought to the maxView Storage Manager login page, where the login credentials are that of the root user of the server (username: root, password: password)

Relating physical location of hard drives in the server to the Web GUI can be seen in the table provided where the right hand column is the physical location.
