Testing with iSCSI has resulted in the following suggestions:
-
Strip Size: For most cases it is probably best to leave the strip size to default (256 KB). Using a 64 KB strip can be useful for small data applications such as a database.
-
Write Policy: This setting depends on your tolerance for data loss. Write Through will significantly slow performance but offers protection. Selecting Write Back without a battery installed will result in the system defaulting to Write Through.
-
I/O Policy: Leave it the default setting, Direct I/O.
